Westfield High School Named a 2019-20 PLTW Distinguished School
Westfield High School has been named a distinguished school for STEM and career learning programs for the third year in a row! We received the Project Lead The Way (PLTW) Distinguished School honor for providing broad access to transformative learning opportunities for students through PLTW courses including Computer Science, Biomedical Science, and Engineering. We are just one of just 143 high schools across the U.S. to receive this honor and one of only seven schools to receive the honor in Indiana. In fact, WHS is only one of two high schools in the State of Indiana to receive this recognition three years in a row!
From our Biomedical classes working to solve medical mysteries, to our Introduction to Engineering classes that design and test watercraft, to our cybersecurity Computer Science courses that inspire our students for future careers -- our PLTW teachers work tirelessly to inspire and engage students in relevant and hands-on learning.
Through PLTW programs, students develop STEM knowledge as well as in-demand, transportable skills that they will use both in school and for the rest of their lives, on any career path they take. We are thrilled to be honored for empowering our students to thrive in an evolving world and achieving exemplary results from our PLTW programs.
