STUDENTS WIN SCHOLASTIC ART AWARDS

The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards is the nation’s largest and most prestigious recognition program in the visual and literary arts. This year, more than 110,000 students submitted nearly 320,000 art and writing works across the nation and only 3,000 students received national medals.

Students from Westfield High School won a total of 37 awards! And for the fifth year in a row, we have had students earn Gold Key awards which made them eligible for the National Scholastics show in New York City!

This year’s winners include Ethan Guardado (Honorable Mention and a Silver Key), Mary Hills (Silver Key), Cate Jensen (Honorable Mention), Sumaiyah Ryan (Honorable Mention and a Gold Key), Myah Sandlin (Silver Key), Kayla Terry (Gold Key), Emma Trompen (Honorable Mention and 5 Silver Keys), Grace Krakora (Honorable Mention, Silver Key, and 2 Gold Keys), James Kranich (2 Honorable Mentions, 2 Silver Keys, and a Gold Key), Rachel Lisle (2 Silver  Keys and 2 Gold  Keys), and Jake Richardson (Honorable Mention, 3 Silver  Keys, and   6  Gold  Keys).

In fact, one of Jake’s Gold Key film and animation submissions has been named an American Visions Nominee and one of Jake Richardson’s and one of Grace Krakora’s regional Gold Key awards won a National Silver Key Awards!  Their talent is awe-inspiring!!
