School Calendar 2025-26 (revised 5/12/25)

On January 14, the WWS Board of School Trustees approved a revised 2025-26 school calendar due to road closures around the LIV Golf tournament at The Club at Chatham Hills from August 15-17, 2025. These closures will make it nearly impossible for school buses to operate in that area, so schools will be closed for students and staff on Friday, August 15, 2025.

Key changes to the revised calendar:

  • The August 15 school day will now be moved to November 6 which will also be the last day of the first trimester.

     November 6 was originally scheduled as a Teacher Work Day.

     November 7 will remain a Teacher Work Day (grades 7-12) and a Parent Conference Day (grades K-6).

  • September 24 will be an Asynchronous eLearning Day for students and a PD Collaboration Day for Teachers.

These changes ensure that we can effectively manage the impact of the tournament on our school operations while maintaining educational excellence. Thank you for your ongoing support and flexibility as we strive to provide the best possible experiences for our students and staff.

May 12, 2025 Calendar Update:  The quarter end dates for Westfield Middle School changed as follows:

  • Quarter 1 end date:  October 3 (was October 7)
  • Quarter 2 end date: December 19 (no change)
  • Quarter 3 end date:  March 6 (was March 10)
  • Quarter 4 end date:  May 22 (no change)

School Calendar 2026-27 (revised 1/20/26)

At its January 20, 2026 meeting, the Board of School Trustees approved the recommendation from the Calendar Committee to revise the 2026–27 student calendar at last evening’s regularly scheduled school board meeting. The revision impacts the start of school for teachers and students to accommodate the extra day added to the LIV Golf Tournaments in 2026.

Key revisions include:

  • The first student day moved to Monday, August 17, 2026.

  • WWS will be closed on Thursday, August 20, 2026, along with Friday, August 21, 2026.

  • All teacher workdays, and professional development have been shifted to the week of August 10, 2026.

  • The calendar adjustments support operational needs and planned building moves during the summer of 2026.
