Principal's Message

  • Dear Oak Trace Families,

As the principal of Oak Trace Elementary, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the Oak Trace family.  The construction of our new kindergarten wing and community room is complete and we are ready for the 2017-2018 school year!

I have served as the proud principal of Oak Trace Elementary since the school opened in 2000.  Prior to opening Oak Trace, I served as the principal of Central Elementary in Lebanon for three years, was the assistant principal at Nora Elementary in Washington Township for just one year, and started my teaching career out in Carmel Clay Schools where I taught third and fifth grades.  My husband and I met at Purdue University where  I received my degree in Elementary Education.  I later completed my masters degree in school administration at IU.   My husband  is an engineer in Indianapolis and we have two children- Robbie will be a sophomore at Purdue, and our daughter, Shelby, will be a sophomore at WHS.  We live in Westfield and love this great community!

Oak Trace has certainly changed over the years right alongside the city of Westfield.  We maintain a focus on connecting the Indiana academic standards in a meaningful way for students and differentiate instruction to meet individual student needs.  In 2015 Oak Trace was recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence and I had the opportunity to receive an award in Washington D.C. along with many teachers.  Oak Trace has been designated a C.L.A.S.S. (Connecting Learning Assures Successful Students) School since opening in 2000.  C.L.A.S.S. schools provide students with an inviting learning environment and enhanced curriculum that makes connections to the real world.

Oak Trace has an incredible staff in place and  I look forward to the start of another great year of learning!  Please let me know if you have any questions regarding Oak Trace or if there is ever anything I can do to make your time at Oak Trace more rewarding.

    Sincerely,

    Mrs. Robin Lynch
