ATHLETIC DIRECTOR'S MESSAGE:
I hope you and your family are healthy! We are hoping to starting our winter sports on time! It might look different than in years past but hopefully, as we progress through the school year things will return to normal. On the left-hand side of this page, it has our coaches' directory. Please contact the coach with any questions you might have about your particular sport. Please note: 6th graders can participate in Wresting only in the winter.Reminder, the IHSAA updated the requirement for forms for participation in athletics. You must have all forms on file before your student can start their sport, including tryouts.
Please read the two different scenarios below. Your son/daughter will fall into one of these categories:If your son/daughter participated in a sport at WMS or another school last year AND you have a physical form on file you need to do the following:1. You don't need to have an updated physical for the 2020-21 school year. Physicals performed for the 2019-20 school year will be good for the 2020-21 school year. However, athletes and parents will be required to fill out the 2020-21 Health History Update Questionaire and Consent & Release Certificate.2. Riverview Emergency Information Form3. HIPAA Form4. Cardiac Arrest/Concussion/Handbook Release FormIf your son/daughter did not participate in a WMS sport last year and did not get an IHSAA physical performed you need to do the following:1. Turn in a 2020-21 Athletic Physical Form.2. Riverview Emergency Information Form3. HIPAA Form4. Cardiac Arrest/Concussion/Handbook Release FormWe have moved to an online platform for turning in forms. Please visit http://www.
registermyathlete.com/I have included some parent slides in case you have issues registering. I have attached it belowIf you are a returning athlete and we have your physical on file already you can leave that section alone in RMA. We will approve your physical on our end of RMA.There will be a section on fees. Leave that area alone. There is still an athletic fee for this year and it is $70 for each sport season, payable to WWS. You will still need to turn this into your coach or the athletic office. The school will then update the fee section for your studentWhen you create your account you can select what sport you are registering for. This is new for WMS. You can select multiple sports if you like. However, if a student is registering for volleyball they might not know they want to run track. Initially, you can just select volleyball but please know that if she wants to run track later you will have to register for that as well. You should just have to log in to RMA and simply select a sport you are registering for.Have a great rest of your summer! The Westfield Middle School boy's golf team will be holding tryouts for Spring Golf. The tryouts will be held October 13-15 at Pebble Brook golf course. Tee times for the tryouts will start at 4:30. Parents need to have the players there as soon as school is released. We will keep the top 16 players based on the scoring average. Players must play all 3 days. Exceptions will be made under the proper circumstances, but at least two scores must be kept. There will be a callout meeting during the 7th and 8th grade SRT classes next week to gather information and determine how many students will be trying out for the team.If you have a student who is interested in playing, please fill out this form:2021 Golf TryoutsIf you have any further questions you may email me at: Mark Capin
