Attendance Line Numbers

Excused: 

• Parent calls school same day (extenuating circumstances allow call w/in 48 hours)
• Medical note required after 7 absences (if ill)
• Goal: No more than 9 excused absences the entire year
• IIlness, death in family, religious observance, appointments

Prearranged:

• Parent call school at least 2 days prior to the absence
• If student already has 7 absences, pre-arranged might not be excused
• Extended medical, performing arts, sports, job interviews

• Parent may/may not call
• Goal: 0 unexcused absences
• Absences may be deemed unexcused if student already has excessive absences or if the call-in does not match a board-approved excuse reason
• 5 unexcused absences indicate the need for truancy prevention plan
• WWS coordinates with the Hamilton County Prosecutor and/or DCS upon a student missing 10 unexcused absences or 18 days for any

• No parent call
• Student chose not to attend school
• Student did not report to scheduled class
• Student is excessively tardy

• All missed coursework is expected to be completed and submitted.
• Student should refer to Canvas or Google Classroom to complete work at home if possible
