Shamrock Academy
The Shamrock Academy is our exclusive ambassador development program created to give select district parents and Westfield community leaders an unprecedented look into the educational experience and a first-hand perspective into what it takes to run a successful and renowned school district like Westfield Washington Schools from the people tasked with operating our world-class educational facilities.
The application period for the 2022-23 class is now CLOSED.
One morning per month, participants in the Shamrock Academy will be immersed in our district buildings to participate in personalized and engaging dialogue with district leadership and hands-on experiences to help understand and explore the ins and outs of our school district.
Here are just a few of the exclusive experiences available to the next cohort:
- Tour the brand new, Virginia F. Wood Early Learning Center
- Guided school tours from people who know them intimately
- Taste food from the renowned Chef Robert Koeller
- Ride on a school bus!
- A meal catered by the high school’s professional culinary team
- Build genuine relationships with principals and administrators
- Experience the engaging learning style used with students
- See the nationally-recognized culture of excellence for yourself
Participants in this edition will get a behind-the-scenes look at:
- How we spend money
- What we’re teaching our students
- What school board members do
- Hiring the best people
- Getting involved in sports and clubs
- What our kids actually eat
- Supports available to kids and adults
- Keep kids safe
- How we use technology
- Getting kids to and from school
Academy graduates will be personally invited to continue sharing their perspective and insights with the school board and district administration on district issues and topics. We will also partner on district and community projects to share the vision and mission of WWS.
The Shamrock Academy is open to any Westfield resident or community member interested in learning more about our school system. Session dates will be announced before the final selection process.
