Celebrating the Class of 2020
Congratulations to the Westfield High School Class of 2020! Wednesday night the school held a virtual graduation to honor our graduates. You can check that out here - https://www.wws.k12.in.us/whs
WHS still hopes to hold an in person celebration at a later time. Congrats Rocks!
As you may have heard, our WWS family tragically lost bus driver, Alice Chamblin last week. Today, our WWS bus drivers honored Miss Alice by driving her elementary bus route together. We know that Miss Alice impacted many students district-wide as she drove routes to and from school, and she also drove for many of our WWS sports events in the evenings. Bus #73 will be parked at the Chatham Hills Clubhouse and remain there until noon on Friday, May 29th so that families and individuals who wish to leave notes, cards, or other tributes to Miss Alice may do so privately. Thank you for helping us honor Miss Alice.
Mandatory Re-Enrollment Form
Yesterday you received your annual demographic update instructions via email. Please complete these steps in PowerSchool as quickly as possible. This action is required whether or not your student(s) is returning to WWS. Please email [email protected] if you did not receive the email entitled “Mandatory WWS Re-Enrollment” and instructions will be sent to you. PowerSchool link: https://powerschool.wws.k12.
Lockers and Personal Items
As you know, our buildings are closed until June 30th. We are in the process of planning for specific activities in July such as retrieving items from lockers and/or classrooms. We will keep you posted with more details about this process! Thanks for your patience!
Early next week, you will receive a survey to gauge your impressions of eLearning and returning to school, among other things. Please keep an eye out for it. Your input is important as we make plans for next school year!
June Edition - Parent Learning Resources
Thank you to our amazing Instructional Coaches who have pulled together resources for parents who are interested in educational summer resources, curated by grade level, for our K-6 level students! Because we ALL have been on screens a lot lately, these resources include both technology-based AND "unplugged" resources. Check out the English- and Spanish-language versions on the home page of the district website (Optional Summer Enrichment Activities).
WWS Unsung Heroes
WWS has a talented team - some faces you may know, and some you may be less familiar. We wanted to say thank you to our amazing custodial staff, who has been working tirelessly behind-the-scenes to clean our classrooms, hallways and buildings. We celebrated them this week as a small way to show our appreciation!
We appreciate Dr. Lori L. Desautels’ collaboration with Westfield Washington Schools to create a video series supporting parents, staff, and community, as we all try to understand how our brains are processing during COVID-19.
Check out these short (less than 10 min) videos to help you grow and process during this time!
