Thank you for your interest in substitute teaching at Westfield Washington Schools. Substitute teachers play a very important role in educating our children and Westfield Washington Schools is dedicated to recruiting responsible, caring individuals to meet those needs. Experience working with youth is an asset.
The first step in the process of becoming a substitute teacher for the Westfield Washington Schools is to complete the online application indicating Substitute Teacher (JobID: 10678) as your desired position.
If your application is accepted, you will be notified by email to schedule a time to meet with the Subsitute Teacher Coordinator.
Substitute meetings are held at the Westfield Washington Schools Administration Building (1143 E. 181st Street, Westfield, IN 46074).
The following documentation is required in order to be a substitute for our district (instructions and links are provided via email upon application approval):
- A Substitute Teacher Permit for any Hamilton County School Corporation or a valid Indiana Teaching License/Certificate
- A voided check for mandatory direct deposit
- Identification as required on the Employment Eligibility Verification Form I-9
- You will be required to go to the Safe Hiring Solutions website for your criminal background check. There will be a minimum cost to you of $24.90 paid directly to Safe Hiring Solutions at the time you submit your request for the background check. We are unable to accept criminal background checks from other school districts.
Substitute teachers are required to hold a minumum of a high school diploma.
Once you are approved as a substitute teacher, you will be entered into our Absence Management System (formerly known as Aesop) where you will be able to select jobs that fit your schedule.
Substitute pay rate - $75/full day*
*Substitute teachers will be paid at the rate $37.50 for working up to 4 hours per day and at the full day rate for working over 4 hours per day.
