The district's boundaries are 146th Street to the south; 216th Street to the north; the Hamilton/Boone County line to the west; and Gray, Hinkle, and Moontown Roads to the east. The bus fleet travels over 500,000 miles each year and is wholly maintained by three ASE certified, WWS mechanics.

SCHOOL BUS ROUTES CHANGING IN 2016-17

Westfield has experienced tremendous growth, especially within the past couple of years.  This growth has forced us to take a look at our bus routing processes along with the bus stops.  In order to accommodate a greater number of students, we are going to a Community Stop approach to our bus routing.  This means that there is a great chance your student’s bus stop and pick up/drop off time will change.

All registered students are in our routing system.  However, if you need to route your student to a location other than your home address, you will need to make the request in writing to our transportation@wws.k12.in.us mail box.

Please note: TRANSPORTATION VARIANCES NO LONGER CARRY OVER FROM THE PREVIOUS YEAR.  YOU WILL NEED TO MAKE A REQUEST FOR THE 2016-17 SCHOOL YEAR IN WRITING IN ORDER FOR US TO ROUTE YOUR STUDENT TO/FROM AN ADDRESS OTHER THAN YOUR HOME.

For variations, please include in your email:

  • Student’s name, School, Grade
  • Address where you need your student picked up/dropped off
  • Name, relationship and phone number of person who resides at that location
  • Details concerning pick up times (i.e. AM only, PM only etc.).

If your student is attending any of the BAC programs, you will not need to notify us.  We will get this information directly from our Student Support Services.

Currently, we are working on the routing process and will have information available to you starting August 1, 2016.  You will be able to access your information in the link below.

VersaTrans e-Link: Bus Route Information

VersaTrans e-Link is an online transportation information system. With e-Link you can find the schools, bus routes, and approximate pick-up and drop-off times for a specific address. The system allows the district to share school bus information online with parents, students, and teachers. Now parents can easily know where their children should wait for the bus and registrars and secretaries can retrieve bus stop information for new students.

Information regarding your student's bus route will be available on August 1, 2016.  Once available, please follow the instructions below regarding Versatran's Log-In.

The online system can be accessed via: versatrans.wws.k12.in.us/elinkrp

 Our Bus Drivers

In Indiana, all school bus drivers must be certified. Before getting their certification, they must have a valid driver's license, pass a physical examination, and obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL). The driver must also complete a three day pre-service school bus driver safety education training course and attend an annual safety meeting to learn any new or modifications to the safety laws. In addition, the drivers must spend 12 hours of on bus training, pass written tests and a driving test given by a certified BMV examiner. In compliance with federal regulations, all drivers are subject to drug and alcohol testing. This includes pre-employment, random, post accident, and reasonable suspicion.

Our Bus Fleet

Our bus fleet successfully completed another annual bus inspection by the Indiana State Police on March 28, 2016. A safety inspection is very thorough. Several officers spend a full day looking at every vehicle inside, outside and underneath; everything from transmission, suspension and brakes to lights, mirrors and stop arms. Even cleanliness is important; dirty windows could fail a bus. The upside is that we and our parents are assured that our buses are safe when children board them.

If you are interested in joining our fine group of drivers, apply in person at:
